Here Come the Navaho! a history of the largest Indian Tribe in the United States, Ruth Underhill, Originally published in 1953 by the Haskell Indian Institute, Lawrence, Kansas, reprinted for the United States Indian Service, 1953.

SuDoc Call No:  I 20.30:8

Well researched book with credit going to several Native Americans who provided primary source information (a surprising move given the era). Doesn’t quite make up for its horrifying title, offensive caricature of a cover, and outdated/racist language.

We’ve come a long way, with still a ways to go.
